SALISBURY - Tommy "Wayne" Earnhardt, 60, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1945, in Rowan County, Mr. Earnhardt was the son of the late Thomas Calvin Earnhardt and Daisy Bernice Stoner Earnhardt. A graduate of East Rowan High School and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, he majored in Business. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Earnhardt was of the Lutheran faith and was a supervisor for Clayton Homes, Richfield. He loved to vacation with his family at the beach, spend time with his grandchildren and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include wife Amy Jeanne Howard Earnhardt, whom he married Jan. 29, 1966; sons Alan Wayne Earnhardt, Gold Hill, John Thomas Earnhardt, Salisbury; daughter Jamie Earnhardt Aigner, Concord; brothers Eddie Dean Earnhardt, Salisbury, Larry Eugene Earnhardt, Rockwell; sister Kathy Earnhardt Buff, Faith; and grandchildren Matthew Earnhardt, Jeremy Earnhardt, Ries Aigner, Zack Aigner and Raegan Earnhardt.
Service: Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Providence United Methodist Church, Salisbury, conducted by the Rev. Dan Gobble, pastor.
Visitation: Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. The family will be at the residence the remainder of the time.
