Brief There is no doubt that the Trading Ford area was the site of many important emigrational, commercial and military events in Rowan County history and the history of this region.

True, we do not know all the details, but who does about any historical event?

There is no doubt that the Trading Ford area was the site of many important emigrational, commercial and military events in Rowan County history and the history of this region.

True, we do not know all the details, but who does about any historical event? Think about it. History, if not recorded well at the moment, is always a patchwork quilt composition later.

Wouldn't it be wonderful for our children, our grandchildren, ourselves and historically enthusiastic tourists from all over America, if the visionary and resourceful entrepreneurs who own these properties and are trying to do something good for Rowan County and the community, also set aside green space to recognize those events in Rowan history that surely occurred on or very near their land? History will thank them. The community will thank them. America will thank them for decades to come.

Now is the time to recapture an important part of Rowan's past before it is plowed under and forgotten.
